Kids pass Otters 2

really need to start using this again…

Yesterday Jamie and Chloe passed their Otter 2 swimming test, which is great considering they couldn’t swim 10 weeks ago.

They were initially put into Otters 1 but were moved the the next level on the first week. Otter 3 starts in April so they should be pretty compitent in the pool by the time we go on holiday in July.

Also yesterday, Chloe went to a birthday party to a riding school… she had a real good time :)

My kids meet Alex Salmond

On Saturday the 6th Sept 2008 we attended a fun day at Gilvenbank park in Glenrothes. The main purpose was to watch my wee boy who is a member of the Collydean School signing team.

Basically, the team lead by Miss Syme carry out a signing for the deaf routine to popular chart songs. During the performance, the Scottish First minister, Alex Salmond appeared unannounced. he stayed to hand out certificates to all the kids then took the time to have his photo taken with any of the kids when he was asked

I’m really not too into politics myself but thought this was a really nice gesture by someone so important and so busy. He spent a fair amount of time with the kids after the performance and was really happy to stand and pose with them all in the cold weather.  I don’t think Jamie and Chloe realised just how important this guy is even though we tried telling them but the photo is definitely one for the future :)

Why WordPress ???

Good question…….

I’ve had my own site for a few years and it has taken many shapes and forms. I’ve used WordPress, E107, Joomla, Drupal and Mambo to name but a few. I’ve either changed them or something has happened and i’ve lost the lot so I thought I’d use a hosted blog… rather than host it myself.

I considered Blogspot but there wasn’t as much functionality as WP and as i’d used WP a lot in the past, this seemed the best option. So here it is… a blog by me… boring rubbish about my boring life for my family and anyone else bored enough to read boring stuff about me :)

The Wifes Car

The wife had been moaning about the brakes on her car for a while so I took it down to Willie Simpson at French Vehicle Services (the car isn’t French but Willie is really good). After some diagnosis it was found the Servo was at fault… £260 +VAT from Vauxhall… eh…no !!!

Got one from Copart in Inverkeithing… when Willie went to fit it it was found to be the wrong one…

Anyway… in desperation we went online to breakeryard.com… within 15 minutes we had an email from Pilsdon Autos who can send one next day delivery. To make sure we get the right one this time he asked that I email him a photo just to make sure… £41 delivered can’t be bad… worth it to put a smile on the wifes face… she misses her car :(
